RF Outputs

My CF30MK3 has dual RF outputs along with GOBI, no GPS. How can I find out which one the upper and lower ports control?

I had to send my dock in for a warranty repair. It is only a single and am having iit changed to a dual while they have it. I would think I would need to tell them which one is which?

I have no clue on the upper/lower pass through, (I would like to know myself), However, if you have GOBI 2000, then you DO have GPS...

I believe mine is a GOBI 1K, the last set of 30 models got the 2K's and then on the 31's.

Me thinking hard right now

Wouldn't be better if I swapped my 1K for a 2K? If so, what else would I have to get besides the antenna bump out?

Dewd, there is NO Antenna bump outs any more with the CF-31's. It uses the WWAN antenna that is already there for the Sprint/Verizon/Att.

GOBI 2000 Card – 1100984 - $132.12

That's the PN for Heartland to order one! Whether or not the 2000 will work in a 30, I don't know! But I don't see why it wouldn't if a 1000 is working now...

Here is the software I used for my 2000 card on my CF-31: Index of ./CF-31 Stuff/

As I've said before I have 2, yes 2 GPS recievers in my CF-31 now lol. One that came OEM inside the machine and one on the GOBI card

So, your saying the 2K card does not need an antenna bump out? I was under the assumption that if you had a GPS model it has the bump out. My bad

The only time you need the GPS bumpout (like i had on my cf-30) is if you want the OEM internal GPS in which the chip goes under the keyboard, NOT the GOBI 2000 card.

I actually have 2 of the OEM GPS's for sale if you want one - it's complete with the antenna and rubber cover for the upper right corner of the screen. - Normal price is $300 (and that is truly what they're worth), but for you, I'd do $200.

w00t!

Geez Rob, I must be having a brain fart day. From what or how you were desribing the GOBI2K I thought that was how the OEM used the GPS. I am sorry, I was totally confused.

So, to start over........What do you think would be the best setup for me to do as to the situation I am in now? I do not use my GOBI anymore since I am using Verizon's 4G. So I don't have to move to a GOBI since I'm not using it now.

I didn't mean to frustrat or confuse you as well

If you have "4G" on Verizon then you wouldn't wanna go with GOBI as you would be downgrading to 3G. For sure the 4G is faster. If you want a GPS solution then honestly the internal, $200 OEM one is your best bet. The kit I have is complete with everything (Jeff has bought one from me). He can attest to how well it works. I also had one when I had my CF-30 as well and it worked GREAT with Streets and Trips 2010
