My new samsung E1920 lcd monitor keep blingking

This happen whenever i plug something like hard disk or speaker. the monitor will blink when it happen. And why there is a white bar when i try to type . hope u guys have a solution for this.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried hooking another monitor up the the system? By doing another monitor hook up you could tell if it is the monitor or something in the system.
